The Rev. Peter Bulkeley was of the thirteenth generation from Baron Robert de Bulkeley, 1199-1216; he came to America in 1635, settled in Cambridge, Mass., and in 1636 in Concord.
Dr. Gershom Bulkeley , b. Dec. 6, 1636, Concord, Mass. Grad. The First Black President: Barack Obama, Race, Politics, and the American Dream|J.1655, Harvard; m. Oct. 26, 1659, Sarah Chauncy, b. June 13, 1631, Ware, England, dau of Rev. Charles Chauncy, second President of Harvard, whose grave slab insciption in Latin is close to the first Unitarian church of Cambridge and opposite to the grounds of Harvard. Dr. Bulkeley was the pastor of the Second church in New London and removed to Wethersfield in 1667. After a pastorate of ten years he retired and practiced medicine, surgery and |
